This skin type may be prone to clogged pores, shiny patches, blemishing and outbreaks, with excess oil production. Oily skin produces excess sebum throughout the entire face, particularly through the T-zone, which can look shiny after cleansing. Blemishes and clogged pores are common problems. Balancing the skin without stripping its natural moisture is very important. Excess oil is often produced as a result of the skin being subjected to harsh detergents, and it is the skin's own way of fighting back in the race to maintain balance. The more you strip the skin of its natural oils with harsh ingredients, the more the skin battles to protect itself by producing more and more oil - a vicious circle.
